How Our Core Values Show Up Every Day

Our Core Values and Shared Responsibilities guide how we work, serve our customers, and support one another. Explore real-world examples of how these principles can come to life in our everyday decisions and actions.

In September 2026, we introduced our new Core Values and Shared Responsibilities. Although the concepts aren’t new to most of us, let’s take a few minutes to review examples that might help illustrate how our Core Values can show up throughout our workdays.

Our Core Values

ACCOUNTABILITY: Own It

A marketing coordinator discovers that incorrect information was included in a customer communication scheduled to be distributed later that day. Instead of hoping it goes unnoticed, they immediately alert the appropriate teams, pause the distribution, correct the information, and ensure stakeholders are informed of the change. They follow through until the updated communication is delivered accurately and take responsibility for protecting the customer experience and the company's credibility.

CUSTOMER COMMITMENT: Get It Right for Our Customers

While preparing an order for shipment, a team member notices a small quality concern that could have an impact on the customer's application. They double-check the material, alert the appropriate team, and help ensure the product meets specifications before it leaves the facility. By focusing on quality, delivery, and the customer's needs, they help create a positive customer experience.

INTEGRITY: Do the Right Thing – Even When No One is Looking

A team member accidentally damaged material while moving it with a forklift. Even though no one saw it happen, they immediately reported the incident, followed company procedures, and helped prevent the damaged material from reaching the customer. They were honest about the mistake, treated everyone involved respectfully, and did the right thing despite the inconvenience.

SAFETY: Protect Yourself and Others

An office employee notices a loose electrical cord stretched across a busy walkway, creating a trip hazard. They secure the area, report the issue, and arrange for it to be corrected. They also let nearby coworkers know to avoid the area until it is safe. By reporting the hazard to the appropriate people, they helped eliminate an unsafe condition and protect those around them.

TEAMWORK: Help the Team Win

Several salespeople at different locations are pursuing opportunities with the same customer. Instead of competing internally, they coordinate their efforts, share customer information, and present a unified approach. By working as one team, they participate in creating a better experience for the customer and increase the company's chance of winning business.

Our Shared Responsibilities

CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP: Make a Positive Impact

A team member identifies and leads a service event for their location. They also volunteer during a different company-sponsored community service event and encourage coworkers to participate. Back at work, they treat everyone with respect, help create an inclusive environment where different perspectives are valued, and follow company policies and ethical business practices in their daily work. Through both their actions in the community and their conduct on the job, they help strengthen the company's reputation and make a positive impact.

EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT: Keep Learning & Growing

A machine operator volunteers to learn a new production technology introduced at the facility. After becoming proficient, they share tips with teammates, help train newer members of the team, and suggest best practices that improve efficiency. They continue seeking opportunities to learn new skills and actively apply what they learn to improve their performance and support the growth of others.

FINANCIAL STRENGTH: Use Company Resources Wisely

A purchasing specialist notices that multiple departments are ordering similar office supplies from different vendors at higher costs. They review spending patterns, work with stakeholders to consolidate purchases, and identify a more cost-effective option without sacrificing quality or service. By managing resources responsibly and looking for smarter ways to work, they help control costs and support the company's long-term success.

Our Core Values and Shared Responsibilities aren’t separate from the work we do – they’re reflected in how we do it. By putting them into practice every day, we help create a safer workplace, stronger customer relationships, and a company culture we’re proud to be part of.
