National Safety Month: That's a Wrap!

During National Safety Month we focused on helping you understand how to make safety a habit and finding ways to Think Safe, Work Safe and Live Safe all year long.

Our focus during National Safety Month was to help you understand how you can make safety a habit – not just at work, but in everyday life – all year long. From coloring contests that helped us get our families involved to Safety Surveys and Safety training with 100% participation – Olympic Steel employees are taking steps to Think Safe, Work Safe and Live Safe!

Earlier this month we explained our theme and gave a heads-up for what to expect. Then, two weeks later, we applied the theme to our recurring monthly training topics to help you understand how you can apply those lessons when you’re at home.

This month, divisions completed a special training session called Safe Start 2025.5 – an update and refresh on the presentation shown in January. All locations were challenged to achieve 100% participation in this month’s training – and here are the divisions who accomplished our Teamwork Challenge:

  • Berlin Metals – Hammond, IN
  • Integrity Stainless – Latrobe, PA
  • Integrity Stainless – Streetsboro, OH
  • McCullough Industries – Kenton, OH
  • Metal-Fab – scheduled for the first week of July
  • Olympic Steel – Bartlett, IL
  • Olympic Steel – Buford, GA
  • Olympic Steel – Chambersburg, PA
  • Olympic Steel – Cleveland, OH
  • Olympic Steel – Dover, OH
  • Olympic Steel – Gary, IN
  • Olympic Steel – Minneapolis (Plate and Coil)
  • Olympic Steel – Schaumburg, IL
  • Olympic Steel – Winder, GA
  • Shaw Stainless – All locations

Although National Safety Month is over, let’s keep this momentum going and continue finding ways to incorporate Think Safe, Work Safe, Live Safe in all you do.

Safety First. Always. And, it starts with me.
