This month is Ramon Sanchez, originally featured in 2020. Now a Production lead for Berlin Metals, we caught up with Ramon to learn a little bit about him, the Core Value he best represents and a few fun tidbits to help you get to know him better.
Explain how you made the move into your current position.
When a Production Lead position was available, I was asked to consider the opportunity and I accepted the challenge.
Which of Olympic Steel’s 10 Core Values do you feel you best represent and why?
Quality, Safety, and Integrity, combined with a strong work ethic, have supported my professional development and helped me grow my career.
What inspires you professionally?
Success!
Who has most significantly influenced your career?
My family. They are my support team.
Describe your ideal weekend.
Being together with family and seeing their happiness.
What is the best piece of advice someone has given you?
Always look forward and review your past to prevent mistakes.
Where did you grow up and what brought you to your current city?
I was born in Honduras and came to America for a better place to raise my family.
Where would you most like to travel and why?
Germany to learn from their industrial development. Also, Israel because of their history.
What’s one unique thing you coworkers don’t know about you?
I like hiking because of the beautiful views and tranquility.
What advice do you have for others who might be interested in an open position within the Company that’s different than their current path?
See yourself where you are, imagine where you’d like to be, then advocate for yourself.
