Ryerson Family of Companies Supports Veterans Through Annual Charity Event

Employees from three locations came together to support Veterans through the 20th Annual Support the Troops MN Golf Tournament and Auction, raising funds to provide critical assistance to Veterans and Service Members in need.

The Ryerson Family of Companies recently came together to support a great cause at the 20th Annual Golf Tournament and Auction hosted by Support the Troops MN. For the past 14 years, Support the Troops MN has provided rapid response emergency assistance to Minnesota veterans and service members, helping with critical needs such as temporary housing support, eviction prevention, vehicle repairs and utility assistance.

This year, the organization is on track to provide approximately $288,000 in aid to Veterans across 57 Minnesota counties. Ryerson has proudly supported the organization for many years, and for this year’s event, Ryerson invited Olympic Steel teammates to help make a meaningful impact.

The tournament brought together employees, families and supporters for a day of golf, fundraising and community. The Ryerson Family of Companies was well represented, with two teams from Ryerson led by Jim Claussen, CFO, one team from Central Steel & Wire led by Tony Jarmoluk, Sales Director, and two teams from Olympic Steel led by Tom Sacco, Regional Vice President. Together, the companies donated $10,000 to support the organization’s mission.

A highlight of the event was the military plane flyover that helped honor the veterans and service members supported by the organization.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated and helped make this event a success. The continued partnership with Support the Troops MN reflects our commitment to supporting veterans and the communities where we live and work.
