Staying Hydrated is a Game-Changer for Your Body and Mind

Join the September Hydration Challenge to experience the benefits of hydration for yourself. Submit the tracking sheet for an opportunity to win prizes.

We’re often told to drink more water, but have you ever wondered why it’s such a big deal? Staying hydrated isn’t just about quenching your thirst, it plays an important role in how you feel, think and function every day.

WHY STAY HYDRATED?

  • Boosts Your Energy and Mood: Feeling sluggish or cranky? You might just be dehydrated. Even mild dehydration can leave you feeling tired, foggy or irritable. Water helps your body transport nutrients and oxygen to your cells, which keeps your energy levels up and your brain sharp.
  • Helps Your Body Run Smoothly: Your body relies on water to perform just about every vital function. From regulating your temperature to flushing out waste, water is essential. It keeps your joints cushioned, helps digest food properly and even supports your immune system.
  • Supports Glowing Skin: Drinking enough water can give your skin a more radiant, healthy appearance. While it’s not a magic solution for wrinkles, staying hydrated does help maintain your skin’s elasticity and can reduce the appearance of dryness or dullness.
  • Aids in Weight Management: Sometimes we confuse thirst with hunger. Drinking water before meals can help you feel fuller and may prevent unnecessary snacking. Plus, replacing sugary drinks with water cuts back on extra calories.
  • Keeps You Cool – Literally: When your body heats up, whether from exercise, hot weather, or stress, water helps regulate your temperature through sweat. Staying hydrated ensures your cooling system works efficiently.

QUICK TIPS TO STAY HYDRATED

  • Carry a reusable water bottle with you.
  • Infuse your water with fruits or herbs for flavor.
  • Eat water-rich foods like cucumbers, oranges and watermelon.
  • If you tend to forget to drink throughout the day – set reminders!
