Employee Pulse Survey Results Influence 2026 Communications Plan

Thank you for participating in last year’s Pulse Survey – your input helped us develop our 2026 communications plan that will more clearly include information about the least recognized programs, services or events.

About once a year, employees are asked to give us insight into something specific. Two years ago we completed a Safety Survey; the year before was the Company Culture Survey. And this year, we asked for input related to our programs, services, UKG and company-wide events to help us plan 2026 communications, focusing on the areas that employees said they’re not familiar with or have never heard of.

 

We received 371 surveys, representing employees from Action Stainless, Berlin Metals, Central Tube & Bar, Integrity Stainless, McCullough Industries, Metal-Fab, Shaw Stainless, and Olympic Steel. Here’s a brief summary and review of the results.

 

SURVEY SUMMARY

Generally speaking, Olympic Steel is viewed as a solid, stable, and growth-oriented company with good people and a supportive culture. The employee experience varies depending on location and role. We heard from employees who love their job and feel valued and others who shared suggestions for improvements.

 

One question we ask in every survey is “Would you recommend Olympic Steel to a friend?”

71% of respondents said yes.

The bulk of the survey asked about your familiarity with programs and services, company-wide employee events, and UKG features. Below are the most and least recognized programs, services, events or UKG features asked about in the survey.

USING THE RESULTS TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATIONS

The results of the survey, specifically the least recognized categories, will be talked about more frequently in 2026 via all communications platforms. Stay tuned for those communications at least monthly in the Odyssey with information continuously shared on digital screens at your location.
