Introducing Ryerson’s Corporate Logistics Team, a group dedicated to helping metal move across our network and to our customers.

Earlier this month, we celebrated Truck Driver Appreciation Week, an annual event to thank drivers for all they do to move metal across our network. Leading this initiative to recognize our drivers each year is Ryerson Corporate Logistics, a team dedicated to helping metal move across our network and to our customers.

At Ryerson, this group is led by Nicole Giesie, Senior Director of Corporate Logistics, and its function is to optimize delivery performance across our network. In addition to its own fleet trucks and drivers, Ryerson works with various third-party logistics company drivers to deliver metal. The Corporate Logistics Team partners with our locations to understand their unique needs and help provide resources and tools to improve efficiency.

The best part? Watching it all come together as improved operational efficiency for our business. And, of course, getting to celebrate drivers, the frontline of the logistics function, during Truck Driver Appreciation Week each year is a highlight for the team!

“Whether we’re looking at load utilization across the company or coordinating ride-alongs for leaders to hit the road with our drivers during Truck Driver Appreciation Week, our team is always working on something exciting,” explains Nicole. “It’s very rewarding to see how logistics connects our people and different areas of our business.”
