Minneapolis Team Hits It Out of the Park with Supply Chain Award

Olympic Steel’s Minneapolis Team is celebrating a major achievement after receiving The Toro Company’s 2026 Supply Chain Resilience Award. The honor recognizes six years of dependable performance, quality and collaboration.

The Toro Company is a leading worldwide provider of innovative solutions for the outdoor environment including turf and landscape maintenance, snow and ice management, underground utility construction, rental and specialty construction, and irrigation and outdoor lighting solutions. They say they’re “built on a tradition of quality and caring relationships” and they help develop those relationships by recognizing their network of suppliers, distributors, dealers, and retailers for helping them provide their products to customers around the globe.

One of those awards, the Supply Chain Resilience Award, recognizes key manufacturing and component suppliers that demonstrate outstanding service, reliable delivery and high product quality under supply chain challenges. The award focuses on these standards:

  • On-time fulfillment – delivering orders correctly on the first attempt
  • Quality commitment – maintaining promised material and manufacturing standards
  • Partnership longevity – building multi-year trusted relationships across factory floors and logistics teams

Last month, Olympic Steel’s Minneapolis Team was honored to receive Toro’s 2026 Supply Chain Resilience Award. The Team was recognized at Target Field, home of the Minnesota Twins MLB team.

Tom Sacco, Vice President for Olympic Steel’s Central Region, could not be prouder of his team and all they’ve done to earn this recognition. He explains, “This award was earned by the entire team – on the floors in our factories, in the trucks that leave our docks every day, and at every desk in between. It was earned on orders that were quoted right, built right and delivered right – the first time. The past six years of service is what this award measures. And especially now, when we’re in the middle of building something bigger with Ryerson – experiencing new systems and new ways of working. When we had every reason to let things slip, this award is proof that we did not.”

Great work, Minneapolis Team, and congratulations!
