One Olympic Team Spotlight - George Frost

Meet George Frost, Vice President of Aluminum and Member of our ONE OLYMPIC Leadership Team.

Two years ago, Olympic Steel established the employee-run ONE OLYMPIC Team. These individuals volunteered to take part in this work of building culture and community to help attract, develop and retain the top talent in the metals and manufacturing industry - this, in addition to their regular job duties.

 

Each issue, we’ll give you the opportunity to learn a little bit more about the employees helping to strengthen Olympic Steel’s culture. In the last issue, we featured Jim Luebke and this issue…

Q: What motivated you to become a member of our ONE OLYMPIC Team?
A:
  “I have experience working in Employee Resource Groups in the past. I think it's important to give back, working to make a great environment for our employees and our community.”


Q: Can you share a unique fun fact or characteristic about yourself?

A:  “I love game night with my family - Pictionary, Scattergories, UNO!”


Q: What’s your favorite thing about being an Olympic Steel employee?

A:  “The Olympic Culture! I am so proud to work for an organization that cares about its employees and does the right thing!”


Q: In your opinion, what's a simple action everyone can take to make our Company a welcoming workplace?

A:  “Exhibit empathy and support each other.”


Q: When it comes to work, what’s your “superpower”? What’s a special skill you can offer to support your co-workers/team?

A:  “Energy. I focus on energizing the team and co-workers on our task at hand. A lot can be accomplished with the right engagement and energy.”


Q: What cultural/heritage celebration or tradition holds special meaning for you? Mind sharing why?

A:  “Frost Family Reunion. My dad was one of 15, so I have fond memories of those summer reunions with my uncles, aunts and cousins. Great storytelling and food!”
