S1 Medical Nurse Triage

Introduced in October 2022, S1 Medical Nurse Triage is a service that we use to help us efficiently determine next steps for treating work-related injuries.

S1 stands for Service First – and that’s exactly what the S1 Medical Nurse Triage program provides to Olympic Steel employees. They’re our partners in managing work-related injuries by providing trained Registered Nurse phone coverage, 24 hours a day / 7 days a week / 365 days a year. The triage team is prepared to assess and assist the injured person, providing empathetic medical care guidance on how to best address their injury.

Here’s how it works:

  1. The injured employee notifies their supervisor of an incident/injury. **If the injury is life or limb threatening, call 911 immediately, not S1 Medical.
  2. With the injured employee present, the supervisor calls S1 Medical Nurse Triage at 855.509.3384.
  3. S1 Medical Nurse Triage gathers needed information and guides the injured employee to appropriate care.
  4. If the injured employee is sent for additional medical care, S1 medical Nurse Triage will immediately notify the local medical facility about the employee’s arrival. **S1 Medical has a list of our preferred medical facility information.

It’s really important to remember that BEFORE seeking any treatment for non-life-threatening emergencies and BEFORE leaving the job site, you and your supervisor need to call S1 Medical Nurse Triage – any day, any time – at 855.509.3384.
